Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a Santa Fe-native with New England roots. Now living in New Jersey and working in Manhattan. Bridge and tunnel, baby.
I say “aunt,” not “ant,” but I also say “sprinkles,” instead of “jimmies.”
You’ll usually find me running, thrift shopping (I’ve got a keen eye for potential), posting photos of my cat on Instagram, or savoring a good book.
Speaking of reading, I’ll peruse just about anything–print ads, newsletters, email subject lines, tweets, Instagram captions, newspapers, shampoo bottles, billboards, Snapple caps…anything except for the iTunes Terms of Service update, that is, because nobody reads that.
I devour words because I’m obsessed, in a healthy way, with messaging. I’m always asking, “What’s the best way to say X?” and, “What reaction will this phrase inspire?”
Being a writer is my way of being a behavioral scientist, economist, therapist, and marketer.
Here are several key things I believe about marketing:
- Branding isn’t about being different. It’s about standing for something.
- It isn’t what you say, it’s what people hear.
- I love newsletters. They’re not dead, they’re just evolving.
- Graphics and design are everything.
